Yoga is a magnificent method to unite body and mind, to create a balance between strength and suppleness, form and function. Through regular practice we have the opportunity to create openness and awareness in our bodies, release stresses, and practice being kind, peaceful and present throughout our daily lives.
These classes capture the essence of more than half-a-lifetime of loving and practicing yoga, meridian stretching, meditation and self-care. They are informed by a thorough understanding of Eastern medicine, physical therapies, anatomy and physiology.
The class is an accessible Ashtanga Vinyasa flow yoga style. Each week we will build and and strengthen a semi-structured routine that will help you establish your yoga practice moving forward. Although an energetic style of practice, I've adapted the practice over the years to be relevant to a majority of students, it is a little slower to suit beginners and advanced options are given for the more experienced. We will also discuss other aspects of self-care and finish with a 5-10min meditation/ shavasana to conclude. If you have any serious or chronic injuries, please reach out to discuss prior.
Meditation & Yoga Retreats:
We are excited to be offering a new meditation and yoga day retreat on Sunday May 28th, 2023 at our beautiful studio in Central Healesville.
This is completely new retreat, designed to help you unwind from the challenges of daily life - a chance to reflect, relax and refocus. A beautiful opportunity to lean in and listen to where you are and what you are needing, to move forward with greater peace and clarity, to do some of the inner work there is rarely space for in a busy week.
Each session will be delivered in a complete way. The meditation and movement exercises will be explained, discussed, practiced, then be readily applicable to your life. The format of the day will be to meditate, to move, to eat a delicious meal, to rest and integrate. A beautiful rhythm which allows the noise to quieten and the way become clearer.
There will be opportunity to clarify your intentions and goals, followed by practices that support the cultivation of mindfulness, deep relaxation, compassion for self and others. There will also be practices that help us become aware of our conditioned patterning and ways we can gently question and begin to resolve things we no longer find helpful. All techniques taught are evidence-based and delivered by highly experienced and qualified therapists Virginia Golding and Rowena Charnley.
Each year we, as practitioners are sure to go on retreat ourselves. We are happy to be able to offer a well curated space in the Yarra Valley for our clients and community to benefit from this experience and practice some wonderful methods of self care.
